Baljinder Kaur : Adarci

Baljinder Kaur, is the founder and CEO of Adarci. Baljinder regularly met many women who felt low self-worth due to poor skin which they mask over with makeup. Given this, and her background in Biomedical Sciences and Organic Skincare Formulation, Baljinder decided to create skincare that helps women from the inside out. Skin is impacted just as much by how we feel emotionally, as it is by the nourishment it receives. Adarci appeals to women who seek a more fulfilling and sophisticated life, both internally and externally.

Adarci inspires women to deeply connect with themselves, helping them to experience a more meaningful, fulfilling and sophisticated life.Adarci represents our search for contentment and finesse. When you connect with yourself and fully understand who you are, elegance shines through effortlessly. The word Adarci comes from the Punjabi word “Ardas”, which is a yearning for a deeper, more harmonious connection. Modern-day living can throw us off-balance. Adarci skincare is formulated using bioorganic plant actives and therapeutic essential oils that encourage calmness and healing. Using a blend of micronutrients, trace minerals, vitamins and omegas – carefully selected for their benefits to skin and their ability to restore balance this luxury skincare brand is a treat for your skin!

What inspires you?

My grandmother is my biggest inspiration in life. She lives a life full of extreme compassion which seems to be based on an inner-connectedness and spiritual wellness in spite of many tribulations. Her life inspires me to live a similar life and help others lead more meaningful lives too.

What book has greatly influenced your life?

The book that has most recently had an influence on my life has to be “The 5 Love Languages of Children” by Gary Chapman & Ross Campbell. This book has changed how I parent. Every child has a unique way of feeling loved and all three of my children have a different love language. When you discover your child’s love language, and how to speak it – you can build a solid foundation for your child to trust you and flourish as they grow.

What purchase of £100 or less has most positively impacted your life in the last six months?

An amazing planner! It has helped me in so many ways to me organise things for my children, my business and our home… meaning we have much more time to be free!

How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success? Do you have a “favourite failure” of yours?

Raising 3 young children whilst creating a luxury skincare brand is not something that can be achieved smoothly! I’ve had so many temporary failures that I now believe that failure is the secret to success. I don’t have a single “favourite failure”, but I do have a favourite solution: persistence. Persistence is absolutely key to being successful.

If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions — what would it say and why?

Everyone is You

I believe that everyone is the same entity. We are drops of water from the same ocean. When we begin to see others as we see ourselves, our lives will be peaceful.

In the last 2 years, what new belief, behaviour, or habit has most improved your life?

I have learnt to embrace vulnerability as this is where courage comes from. If we refuse to be vulnerable, then we block ourselves from being able to move forwards in life. Once we embrace vulnerability, we find the power to surge forwards.

What advice would you give to a smart, driven student about to enter the “real world? What advice should they ignore?

The schooling system makes us believe that failing is hugely negative – it’s not. Have a big goal and don’t be afraid to fail. It’s through failure we learn to grow, develop and discover new opportunities.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, or have lost your focus temporarily, what do you do?

Whenever I feel like this I sit down with my husband and we have a long talk – he helps me realign my expectations and push beyond any self-imposed limitations that I may have. It’s his encouragement and belief in me that helps me get through the toughest times.

Tell us something that would surprise us about you?

I had a planned home birth which was a beautiful experience. Boys woke up to find that they had a new baby sister, as if by magic!

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve overcome?

When I started out with Adarci, I had 3 children who were 3 years old and under. Balancing the needs of very young children with the demands of a business is highly challenging. I found that the tough times are the ones that make you grow and if you’re not uncomfortable, you’re unlikely to grow.

What is your message to the AWMB community?

I want women to feel comfortable in their own skin and not feel like they have to wear a mask. Don’t be limited by the thoughts of others. Decide what is right for you, surround yourself with positivity and feel your soul.
