September is the new January.
Pinch, punch, first day of a new month…although September not only feels like a new month and the beginning of a new season it also feels like the beginning of a fresh start in the year. The end of the Summer (and what a spectacular Summer it was here in the UK for us!), the start of a new school year, even if you haven’t been to school for years, September feels like a time for renewal and an opportunity to turn a new leaf (yes, pun intended!)
Most people are refreshed and rejuvenated after their summer holiday and there is a natural shift in us to want to focus and get clear on what we want to achieve in the remainder of the year. It is no coincidence that our first AWMB Workshop is this month to help women get clarity on their purpose and how to fulfil their potential : http://www.asianwomenmeanbusiness.com/workshop/
This is the perfect time to set some new resolutions. Take some time out this week and reflect:
*What has gone well this year so far?
*What are you not satisfied with?
*Think back to 1st January – how did you want this year to be? Have you done what you wanted to do? If not, what’s prevented this from happening? What actions can you take right now to get you closer to where you want to be?
*Now think forward to New Years Eve 2018, when you look back at this year what will you have wanted to achieve? How do you want this chapter of 2018 to end?
These questions will give you some clarity on the areas of life you perhaps need to turn your attention to and focus on for the remainder of the year.
For me this was a year to focus on my physical, mental and emotional health, following the arrival of my second child in November last year. I promised myself to only do things that will bring me joy, to only spend time with people that uplift and inspire me and to get back into an exercise routine. I feel incredible! I can now focus on other areas of my life that need attention.
So, with September now upon us, it is the perfect time for a fresh start. What will you do this month to do that?
