A Year of Courageous Growth

As the year draws to a close I find myself taking a slow breath, a long look back and, honestly, feeling overwhelmed in the best possible way. Five years ago Inspire Club was an idea scribbled in a notebook. A tiny spark born from conversations with women who were tired of shrinking in rooms they were meant to shine in.

Today that spark has grown into a community of 180 women who are choosing courage, connection and growth every single day. And this year felt like a milestone year, not just in numbers but in spirit.

Five Years of Inspire Club

Marking the fifth anniversary of Inspire Club felt bigger than a celebration. It felt like a testament to what happens when women show up for themselves and for one another. What started as a space for support and self-discovery has evolved into a movement, a sisterhood, a reminder that transformation is possible at any age or stage.

A Celebration in Parliament

One of the most surreal moments this year was stepping into Parliament not as a visitor but as a representative of a community of South Asian women determined to change the narrative. Standing in that historic building talking about our work and the women we serve was a reminder that visibility matters, voice matters and representation is not optional.

Our Prayer Circle

Among all the high-energy events, the prayer circle stands out as one of the most grounding. There is something deeply powerful about South Asian women holding space for one another, in stillness and sincerity, without expectation or performance. It reminded me that faith and community are not separate from ambition. They fuel it.

International Women’s Day and the ‘Mother Kili’ Screening

It still gives me goosebumps. Sharing our film ‘Mother Kili’ on International Women’s Day was a full-circle moment. Watching the audience watch us — South Asian mothers, daughters and grandmothers taking on the world’s tallest freestanding mountain — felt like witnessing the story land exactly where it was meant to. The film continues to ripple outward, and every screening reinforces why we made it.

A Joyful End-of-Year Social

We ended the year with a social that was pure joy. Laughter, connection, stories, sisterhood. A reminder that celebration is not frivolous. It is fuel. It is community glue. And after a year of deep work and brave steps, being together simply to enjoy one another’s company was a gift.

Talks for South Asian Heritage Month

This year I was invited to speak at a few organisations for South Asian Heritage Month, and it was one of the proudest moments of 2025. Sharing our stories, reframing our narratives and raising the visibility of South Asian women continues to be one of my greatest privileges. Every time I step onto a stage I carry our ancestors, our mothers and our future daughters with me.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp

And yes, we went from Kilimanjaro to Everest Base Camp. As you do. Taking a group of Asian women into the Himalayas was more than an adventure. It was a declaration. We belong in the outdoors. We belong in leadership. We belong in every space we choose to step into. Watching these women push themselves physically, mentally and emotionally reminded me why this work matters. Growth is uncomfortable but it is liberating.

Looking Ahead

If this year taught me anything it is that courage is contagious. One woman takes a step, then another feels braver, then the whole group shifts. What started as a small circle has become a global network of South Asian women rewriting what is possible for themselves.

Five years in, Inspire Club is no longer a passion project. It is a legacy in motion.

And we are just getting started.
