August 2022 and I’m climbing the Roof Of Africa.
I had trained. I had prepared. I was ready.
But really I was full of ego. I thought it was all about me.
You showed me a different way.
You held my hand, you picked me up, you stood by my side and guided me through.
This hike has nothing to do with me.
The Ardaasa. The Chaupai Sahibs. The Pleas. You heard them all.
When I thought I couldn’t go on, you sent your Naam.
Your Jaikara roared through our bones.
You gave me the strength, it was all you.
Thank you for allowing me to experience such beauty, and giving me the opportunity to learn more about myself.
You are beant, I am just a humble servant.
When I thought that the world was all me, you showed me it is nothing without you.
Thank you to the mountain, whoever you may be.
Your beauty was like none I have ever witnessed before.
You made me realise I am a small drop in the ocean.
I am truly grateful.
