If someone had said you’d question yourself a thousand times whilst doing this adventure…I would’ve laughed at them.
I was so sure that I’ll be laughing and joyous and full of beans. For a day and half I certainly was.
Truthfully I felt exhausted, I felt ill and I did not feel like I belonged nor deserved to be doing this mammoth adventure.
Altitude (or altitudy even 😂) really took its best from me and so many of my @a.w.m.b sisters. On Day 4 I genuinely thought it was the end of the road for me. I had visioned arriving at Heathrow airport and telling Saroop, Riya and Veer that I hadn’t made it 😭.
The gratitude I feel even as I write this is all consuming and full of an emotion that takes my breath away at the mere thought🙏💟.
Summit night took every ounce of being from me.
With each step and each trekking pole I had a mantra…’Saroop, Riya, Veer, Dad’, ‘Kiran you can do this’. ‘I can do this’.
I am so grateful to my summit night porter @trek2kili who was magnificent and to Nicole from @whoatravel who pushed me when I had given up so close to summit🏔️🥾.
I went as Kiran and have returned as a slightly different version of the Kiran I once was, I know this for certain!
For now this is all I can think of.
Dhan Guru Nanak, without you I am nothing 😭🙏✨
