It gives us great pleasure to share that our 2020 charity of the year is REACH.
REACH is the leading charity providing support and information to parents and their children affected by upper limb difference. It is a friendly, caring place offering fun activities to encourage Reach children to aim higher.
REACH say “We are a ray of hope, even in the darkest moments, in our members lives”. I know this to be true as my son Sahib was born 2 years ago with three fingers missing. This came as a huge shock as it was not picked up during the scans or any pregnancy tests.
In amongst the heartbreak, sadness and uncertainty we were told of REACH and made contact.
They really are a ray of hope. Seeing and hearing about children with upper limb differences truly excelling and thriving filled my heart with hope and faith that we could dare to dream bigger for our son. REACH has made me realise that it is our perception that shapes Sahib’s future. By seeing what others are achieving we too can hold high aspirations for our gorgeous boy.
Now that Sahib is 2 we are seeing more of his cheeky personality shine through, he is persistent, giggly and loves Hey Duggee. He is the missing piece that we yearned for in our family and is an incredible blessing.
When our daughter Daya was born 8 years ago it led to us supporting Unique Home as we wanted to work with a charity that supported abandoned, unwanted girls. This resulted in fundraising and more awareness being raised about this incredible cause. It is now time to focus on another amazing charity – REACH who are helping children with upper limb differences live life without limits.
