I had a dream come true this year, after relying on generic stock images for years this is the year we pulled out all the stops!
I invested in a photo shoot for our rebrand and to finally have beautiful photos of women that not only look like us but ARE us!
A team of 40 people were involved in the photo shoot, the 18 women that were in the photo, not one of them of them was paid. All of them took time off their jobs, their businesses, they organised their childcare, their family, and they made sure that they were there at the studio in West London for when I needed them.
When we were planning this shoot I was told that inevitably there would be ladies that drop out, emergency arise, things happen and that I should ask more women than I needed in the actual photo to factor this – I asked 18 thinking if anyone drops out we still have diversity covered – not one of those women dropped out, everyone showed up,
That is nothing short of remarkable. Thank you Amrit, Belinder, Bep, Deepa, Donna, Hardip, Harjit, Kaveeta, Kiran, Lorna, Mandeep, Manjeet, Navrup, Nev, Shani, Sim, Zarina and Sobya who all took part in that shoot.
We had a wonderful glam team. Thank you to Rishika, Rupinder, Yasmin and Harj who were part of the glam squad that day. Harj is one of my dearest friends she drove up from the Midlands was first on set, stayed until we wrapped up the shoot and drove back. I feel so blessed to have the support of incredible women who took this dream of mine and made it theirs. Watch the video see how it all unfolded!
